There are 4 gates for the entrance. Qasim gate, Khizri gate, Sikhi gate, Hhareri gate. Walls of the fort is 21m high an 6800 feet in circumference. The fort basions includes two flanking towers at each of 4 gates. The fort wall are 40 to 70 m high. The fort was destroyed by British forces during the British colonial period. A ditch is 25 feet deep and 12m wide. There is another fort inside the fort has 30 towers, enclosing mosque, khan’s palace and temple. In 1818 the fort was severely damaged by the guns of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.

Background

According to some estimate this Fort was built between 800BC to 1000BC. This was made by the family on a hill separate from the Ravi River near the city of Multan. The fort was military installation and a symbol of South Asian architecture and defense.
