It is largest national monument of Pakistan. This tower is located at the middle of garden called Iqbal Park. The
tower was built with Islamic/Mughal modern art in mind. The tower was supervised and designed by a Russian-born Pakistani civil engineer and architect. It took 8 years to build. It cost 7,058,000 to build. Today, the
minaret offers a visitors a panoramic view. It also has stairs and elevator to go upside. Its base is about 8m above the ground. The height of tower is about
70m form the base. The height of the unfolding petals of flower like base is 9m. The base consist of four platforms and made up of patterned tiles and it faces the Badshahi Mosque. Like the national flag the crescent and stars image is used in the tower. Which reflects the culture of Pakistan. Its first platform was made of stones cut from taxila. The second platform is made up of hammer-covered stones, the third platform is made up of chiselled stones and the fourth platform is made up of polished white marble that illustrates the success of freedom of Pakistan. 99 names of Allah Almighty are written in Arabic calligraphy and Quranic Verses are written on different plaques. While the national anthem of the Pakistan is written in Urdu and Bengali and also the few speeches of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal.
