Details

It is located in Multan. The mausoleum is built of brick. And the building is decorated with blue tiles. The use of blue tiles reflects the influence of immigrant architects from central Asia. There are also a large wooden doors that leads to the entrance. The shrine is square shaped and covers an area of 51 foot 9 inch. Above it is the hemispherical dome. The mausoleum was completely destroyed by the British during the Siege of Multan in 1848. But soon restored by local Muslims.

Background

The shrine is located in Multan. This is the 13th century shrine located in the Multan. This tomb is devoted to the Muslim mystic Bahauddin Zikriya. This is one of the important shrine in the Punjab province. Bahauddin Zakariya died in 1268. This was built in 1268.
