This cold desert is also known as katpana desert.  it is also known as shigar cold desert. It is high altitude desert situated in skardu, gilgit baltistan. It is located at an elevation of 2226 meters. This desert contains large sand dunes. That is mostly covered with snow during winter.  It is one of the highest desert of the world. It is most attractive part of tourist.
