Details

It is built in 1942 by former Aamir of Bahawalpur. It covers an area of 25 acres. It is also called zoological garden. It also has a zoological museum and aquarium with bird, reptiles and mammals. It is 4th biggest zoo in Pakistan. There are many animals in the zoo like birds, tigers, lions, crocodile and a large pond in the zoo, hog deer, nilgai, European red deer, domestic cats etc. There is also a large pond that is home to cranes and pelicans. It also includes a museum with stuffed animals.

Background

At that time it was named Sher bagh (lion garden). The zoo is under the controlled of Department of Livestock Punjab. To protect and provide the clean environment.
